A Stroll Through Downtown Ottawa with John & Soanna

A year after an incredible Wedding Day I had the opportunity to capture some forever moments once again with John and Soanna in downtown Ottawa.

On their wedding day a year ago, the weather was unforgiving, with a cold biting wind and deep piles of snow, making outdoor portraits challenging on a busy wedding day. During this session, we decided to take advantage of the comparatively mild weather to explore more of the outdoor locations in the Market.

We began with some photos on parkade in the middle of the market. These spots are great as they tend to be more isolated and provide a relatively view of the surrounding buildings.

We then walked over to their reception venue which unfortunately had recently closed their doors. We were fortunate to arrive on that day as we were still able to take photographs to memorialize one of their favorite restaurants.

To end our session with the setting sun we walked over to the location where John proposed to Soanna. It’s a spot that’s usually busy with people taking photos of the parliament or the river but in this case the winter weather worked in our favour.
